A few days ago, Fox News invited the republican candidates with the best poll ratings to one of the most important debates in the presidential run. The Iowa Caucus is only a few days away and we just had the 7th GOP debate in Des Moines, Iowa. One of the main surprises came from the Republican’s leading candidate, Donald Trump, who decided to skip the meeting. The multi-billionaire announced he won’t show up because of FOX moderator Megyn Kelly, who he claims to be biased against him. While Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Ben Carson, Chris Christie, Jeb Bush, John Kasich, and Rand Paul spent an evening showing off and throwing dirt at each other, Donald Trump was a few miles away from the feud, raising $5 million in a fundraiser for America’s military veterans. At the same time, in the undercard debate, Rick Santorum, Mike Huckabee, Carly Fiorina and Jim Gilmore faced each other.

ln_60.3With the current poll leader absent, Ted Cruz occupied the middle of the stage and decided to set the tone of the discussion by mocking and imitating Trump, right from the beginning. What followed was an evening of petty squabbles and typical political debates, with everyone trying to position themselves in the spotlight.

In short, after attacking Trump, Ted Cruz spent most of the evening fending off attacks from all of his rivals on stage. Jeb Bush had a very good night. He managed to dodge some bullets and outmaneuvered Cruz and Rubio on immigration issues. He came off the stage as one of the most thoughtful candidates on the challenges we are currently facing. Rand Paul also managed to hold his position on surveillance and immigration, making valuable points. Chris Christie joined the typical political debates by focusing on his position as governor and attacking other candidates which are senators, as well as Hilary Clinton. Rather unnoticed, John Kasich stayed clear of volatile claims, promoting cooperation and more cautiousness in solving our nation’s problems. With Trump gone, the debate became very political and Ben Carson didn’t show up as much. The undercard debate was similar in many ways. While Fiorina attacked Hilary Clinton, Santorum rejected the undercard label and urged Iowans to pick the leader they know to be the best for their country, meaning himself. Huckabee tried to relate to the general public via one of his middle class supporters, Thomas. Gilmour only managed to get some social media attention. The great winner from last night could actually be the candidate that missed the whole thing. Floating above the fray, Trump is very well positioned to grow even stronger from now on.

ln_60.4It seems none of the candidates believe Trump to be a serious contender in a general sense and therefore focus on attacking every other candidate except him. This is great news for the multi-billionaire as he managed to remain unscathed. Even if he would have seemingly won debates over his rivals, it would have been almost impossible to dodge the video montages FOX put together against each candidate. He managed to stay clear of such volatile topics, while also doing well by the military veterans.

In theory, consolidating all non-Trump voters behind a single candidate would defeat him. However in light of last night’s debates, it seems unlikely this would happen. Donald Trump might actually have a very good chance of winning the elections. As long as he stays in the game, positions himself separate from the flock and continues to dodge bullets. Any of his rivals quitting the race could be beneficial to him. Cruz voters may like his defiance of GOP leadership, while Christie voters might like his northeastern regional identity. Kasich voters may appreciate his moderation on the welfare state, while Bush voters might be lured by his attitude to get things done. Rubio voters might not be interested, but some could relate to Trump’s American nationalism and advertising of national greatness.

  1. Donald Trump has to keep speaking, as he spoke the night of the results of the Iowa Caucus. He did not attack anyone, he just stated the facts! That he wants to make America great again. He should not brag, he should not attack the other GOP candidates. He does need to keep mentioning the fact that Hillary has lied about four lives that were lost, and that Bernie Sanders wants to raise taxes, to the highest amount. I speak for a lot of people that I know. If he continues to attack our GOP, they will not vote for him. Thank you very much. I am a big Donald fan. Love him. NEED OUR BORDER CLOSED IMMEDIATELY- FIRST DAY IN OFFICE!

    1. I ditto that. If I could say something to Mr. Trump I would tell him to shout out to AMERICANS that if you do what you’ve always done then, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten & that is politicians that might mean well when they first go in but, as the old saying goes if they don’t beat them then they just join them right. But, Americans need to wake up & change what they’ve always done & elect a non-politician like Donald Trump.

  4. Because of Trumps fearlessness and love for America and its foundation, he could get the job done. His history as a democrat does fog my resolve. Has his mind change turned into conviction and principle? Has he had a transformation of heart and soul? Has God changed him inside? If so, we all know he won’t look back even to “make deals”. Real close to being on his team because of his boldness and his determination not to be bought off or play games. Judeo Christian values are important to me. For without obeying God and drawing close to Him, we all including our nation will fail and eventually be no more. We need Gods forgiveness and mercy not judgement that we bring on ourselves.

  5. Donald Trump will be the modern day Thomas Jefferson. Where Jefferson was a master of history, Trump is a master of economics and dealing with others to get the job done. He will be the only one who can convince the House and Senate to listen to the people and not their economic supporters. As an old Military analyst the other two front runners are simply too young to organize and convince the older congarass & senaters. Trump is absolutely right in recommending suspension of Muslim’s to America. Look up and read US Code 1182, inadmissible aliens. The law was written in 1952 and passed by a Democrat-controlled Congress, House and Senate, and signed by a Democratic president. All of the pundits claiming that Trump is dumb, stupidand reckless need to educate themselves. Jimmy Carter used it in1979 to keep Iranians out of the US. 15,000 Iranians were forced to leave the US in 1979. For more read my book, Wake Up America Before It,s Too Late a Decision Paper. Look it up on either Barnes and Noble or Booksamillion. God bless and keep up the good work.

  6. For starters:
Trump is the only candidate who is self-funded, and he’s got
some excellent ideas, on how to restore America. Trump appears
to be a man of action, he’s an intelligent and savvy businessman, whose up on
all the political issues and problems facing this country. Some say he hasn’t
given us his plan on How To Make America Great Again. Well to them I’d say, oh
yes he has many times, they simply weren’t listening. So to spell
it out once again, Trump’s plan is: a) Secure the borders, b) Build a
wall at the border (and let Mexico pay for it). c) Let the illegal immigrants
who are TRYING to enter this country LEGALLY, establish citizenry in our
country. d) Ban muslims from entering this country, in light of the attacks
in San Bernardino, and elsewhere throughout the world. You don’t let the
dogs in, that want to destroy you! Get rid of the ISIS problem, by brute military
force and strategic planning. e) Make smart trade deals with China,
and other countries. f) Build-up our military and stengthen it, to the point
that no one dare challenge it. g) Job Creation – Through
rebuilding infrasture, the Keystone Pipeline Project, and by other various
means/measures. Get the govt. out of the way, and then the private sector can
flourish, resulting in job creation. Tax incentives to businesses/companies
who hire and retain employees, could/will be rewarded). Bring back Manufacturing jobs and lower the taxes of doing business in this country, which
is at a staggering 35%! h) Charge other
countries import taxes/tariffs, like they charge us! i) Pay down our
National debt which is now at a staggering 22 Trillion! (thanks mostly to obama)!
And last, but certainly not least:
    j) Help our Veterans who need and DESERVE the best health care possible.
Fix the broken VA system healthcare, to ensure that our Veterans are
getting the treatment they need and deserve in a timely manner. No
more VA cancelling appts, and No more waiting lists!!! And no more death-by-delay by witholding medical treatment or non-treatment of our Vets! That is outrageous! In a Trump presidency
you won’t see that travesty happening again! Although Trump missed the last debate, he did something far greater, he helped raise 6 million dollars for our Veterans! I don’t see any other political candidate doing that. Instead of talking about helping our Veterans, Trump put his words into ACTION, and he did just as he said he would. As they say: Actions speak louder than words! And to Trump I’d say: BRAVO!!!

Of all the candidates, I believe Trump has the greatest strategy, as he plans out his moves, well in advance; he’s always 2 or 3 steps ahead of everyone else. He calls
things as they are, and he doesn’t put up with any guff, and he stands up for his beliefs and ideals, which are the same beliefs and ideals as many of his fellow
Americans. Trump isn’t like all the other candidates, and it’s truly refreshing to see someone like him on the political scene who actually has our back. Trump has captured the hearts of many freedom-loving Americans, who want change alright, we want positivechange and that’s what I believe we’d get in a Trump presidency.
I truly do believe, that Trump could Make America Great Again. And of course, we’d need the mighty help of the Lord in order to accomplish this, first and foremost.

    Trump 2016!!!

  7. Improve all antiquated systems in the USA. We’re giving it away around the world. More water in the western states could generate cheaper food. Better roads and bridges will save lives. Just to mention a
few. Use ideas and innovations for more than just creating notice. Great ideas developed have changed the world for the better. How about Henry Ford? Thomas Edison? Countless others can be much more
than cook for fast food. Protect seniors social security or improve it. Protect seniors from losing their savings through thoughtless counselors. Ref; Ed May and Ponzie schemes. Lost most of my savings in
REITS. They will not give you your cash back till the money is spent. Then very little is left. Same with
most every thing in investing. David A. Brandon

  8. I love Trump and want to see him become the next President.

  9. Well, this article did help me to know where you all stand. You downgrade a constitutionalist like Ted Cruz, and you prop up a guy like Trump. First off, ARE YOU INSANE? Trump is scary. He would TRASH the Constitution. Plus, he is a huge phony. Look at his statements and record. You people are crazy to believe a guy like this when the facts are right there to see? READ!!! It is like Obama voters all over again. It is truly sad. But thank you for showing your true colors. I know now that I need to unsubscribe. Please wake up before for it is to late for you and America. I am out…

  10. Trump is in to stay & I personally agree with what he did of standing his ground against the idiots at fox !!!
He proved to me that he “says what he means >>> & means what he says” !!
He is not “beholdin to ANY of the pacs nor the liberal idiot news media … that is a GREAT combination (IMO) for a President that will not be bought by ANYone !!!
