If you have been actively prepping for the end-times, all your sweat might have been worth it. On July 27, the moon will unravel its ‘bloody’ look during the longest lunar eclipse this century has seen, and will once again witness in a long while.

Could this be the long-awaited sign of the impending apocalypse? We’ve all felt the wind of change blowing relentlessly, as if a great shift is approaching. I don’t know of the outcome, but this particular event sounds like the perfect foreteller of the end-days. At least that’s what some people are suggesting.

I’m not talking about ‘tinfoil hatters,’ but rather of esteemed Christians who are citing relevant passages from the Bible. Two sources in particular, the Book of Joel and the Book of Revelations, have been highlighted for their predictions regarding a glowing blood moon, the celestial apocalyptic forerunner.

It’s no doubt that many end-days survivalists will cross their fingers when the moon will pass through Earth’s shadow this July 27. We have only a limited timeframe until these predictions will come to life…or maybe not.

Let’s see what all those concerns are based on. Let’s have a look first at the book of Joel.

The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood before the great and the terrible day of the Lord come.”

The ancients who wrote this book (part of scripture) didn’t have the term “eclipse” coined back then, so they would refer to it as the ‘sun turning black.’ We’ve just experienced a solar eclipse not a long while back.

The part where the moon turns into blood might seem quite cryptic at first glance, but we can identify this event as a “blood moon,” exactly the event partaking on 27 of July.

The two events are also subsequent, just like the Book of Joel penned them. Could this be just a mere coincidence or misinterpretation? Or is it really a sign of the upcoming appearance of God?

Let’s seek further answers into the Book of Revelations.

And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, Io, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood.” – Revelations 6:12

This might not make much sense from a blood moon standpoint, but correlating events from a few years back will shed some light on this matter.

A doomsday hypothesis had been launched in 2014 by UK Christian ministers, John Hagee and Mark Blitz. The two claimed back then that the ‘sixth seal’ described in Revelation had been breached by the moon “tetrad” – four subsequent moon eclipses.

This event, which began on April 2014, saw six full moons in between the eclipses, which span from April to September 2014. The “prophets” were mocked by the entire internet community back then, but with the coming of this “blood supermoon,” their predictions might stand a second chance.

I’m almost entirely positive that nothing cataclysmic will follow this outstanding and rare event, although chances are there.

A wind of change is indeed being felt, and I don’t deny that something of global concern might come after this blood moon, but I don’t want to correlate the events to it.

It’s still a plus if you have your end-time bunker ready for whatever might hit us, although staying inside will make you miss a celestial phenomenon observed only a few times each century.

Whether you are troubled by the upcoming event or are looking to that night fearlessly, I believe we should all rejoice this moment that will look truly out of this world.

So better grab a blanket, warm drinks, and all your loved ones. Gather to a secluded place away from city lights and watch in awe as the night sky will turn bloody orange. It will be a sight to remember.

  1. Hi Jason! Interesting article, but sadly there won’t be much chance to settle in with loved ones to enjoy an orange night sky…at least for those of us who live in North America. Here the eclipse will be occurring 3:30 – 5:18pm Eastern time, or starting a little after noon here on the West Coast where I live. Guess we’ll just have to watch this one online!
